An idyll at 1,470 meters above sea level at Nassfeld

The Winkelalm, also known as "Malga Winkel", is located on the Italian side of the Nassfeld at an altitude of 1,470 m. Nestled in the green landscape and surrounded by mountain peaks in an idyllic setting, the lodge invites you to stop by, linger, and enjoy.

Our team treats you to a small selection, including various breads, "Brettljause" (a traditional platter), goulash soup, as well as homemade cake specialties, coffee, ice cream, and cold beverages.

Picnic with music

The highlight that takes place once a week at the Winkelalm is our traditional picnic with music. You can expect a delicious selection of barbecue specialties that not only delight our hotel guests.

  • Legendary Kaiserschmarrn in the large pan to finish

We are always happy to welcome familiar faces from near and far to our mountain hut. A barbecue at the Winkelalm is also perfect for corporate events, birthday parties, or club celebrations.

Starting point for hikes

Hiking tips

The Winkelalm is both a destination and a starting point for numerous hikes. You can reach the Winkelalm on foot, by bicycle, or by private car. Access by private car is possible via the Nassfeldstraße (B90) from the border crossing Passo Pramollo in the direction of Italy, up to the old barracks. From there, you can get to the Winkelalm via a forest path in about 15 minutes of walking.

Here are a few hiking tips to and around the Winkelalm

  • 15 minutes walking time: From the Hotel Gartnerkofel by car towards Italy to the old barracks (about 2.5 km) - from there via the forest path on foot to Winkelalm (about 1 km).
  • 45 minutes walking time: From the Hotel Gartnerkofel to Lake Nassfeld - right along the lakeside path - to the southern shore of the lake - from there via the hiking path to Winkelalm (about 2.5 km).
  • 1.5 hours hiking time: From the Gartnerkofel Hotel - to the Tressdorfer Alm - continuing to the Rossalm - from the Rossalm to the Nassfeldsee - along the lake path and the hiking trail further to the Winkelalm.
  • 4 hours hiking time: Hike to Malurch: Starting point is the Winkelalm - Stampfboden - Malurch - Pridola Saddle - Winkelalm - Challenging hike. A head for heights and sure-footedness required.
